Countdown Timer

Count down to a birthday, exam or trip — ticking every second.

00Days
00Hours
00Minutes
00Seconds

How to use it

  1. The box starts filled with a target one day from now. The countdown to that moment starts ticking right away — no button to press.
  2. To count to a specific moment, edit the date and time (or use the picker). To start a quick timer, press one of the presets: 1 min, 10 min, 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week — it sets the target to that far in the future from now.
  3. When the time is reached, the timer shows “Time’s up!” with how long ago it passed. Press Reset to return to the default target.

Example

Target

Target: Oct 26, 2026, 2:30 PM

At 2026-10-25 14:30 (local)

00 days 23 : 59 : 59
Target: Oct 26, 2026, 2:30 PM
(just after “1 hour”: 00 days 00 : 59 : 59, then ticking down)

The countdown recomputes every second from the target minus the current time, so it stays accurate even if the tab was in the background. The target is in your browser’s local time zone.

Rules, limits and known issues

  • The target is interpreted in your browser’s local time zone. There is no time-zone picker — for cross-time-zone targets, use the Time Zone Converter.
  • No account, no saved timers and no shareable link that carries the target — the target stays on the page and is not written to the URL or storage (it resets on refresh).
  • When the time is reached the page shows “Time’s up!” visually; it does not play a sound or send a notification, so a background tab will not alert you.
  • The timer counts down once to a single target; repeating or pomodoro-style work/break cycles are a separate tool.
  • Target precision is to the minute (seconds are always zero), matching the native date-time input.
