Markdown to Word

How to use it

1. Paste Markdown into the box, or press “Open .md” to read a UTF-8 file up to 2 MB. There is no Convert button: the readout updates about a tenth of a second after you stop typing.
2. Check the readout — it counts exactly what the file will contain: headings, paragraphs, tables, code blocks. Links to http(s) / mailto / tel become clickable Word hyperlinks; other protocols keep only the text.
3. Press “Download .docx”. The file is assembled on your device from Word’s own format (OOXML): headings use real Heading 1–6 styles, so the Word navigation pane and Insert ▸ Table of Contents work on the result.

The table opens as a real Word table; lists keep their bullets and numbers.

Open the file in Word (desktop, web or mobile) to check it: text is selectable and editable because the document is Word’s own XML format, not an image.

Rules, limits and known issues

• Images are not embedded:  is written as the text [image: alt]. Fetching remote images would send requests to third parties, which this tool never does.
• Math, Mermaid, footnotes and raw HTML are not converted — they are kept verbatim as text so nothing silently disappears.
• The style set is fixed (Heading 1–6, Body Text, Quote, Source Code). No reference-document upload; in Word, modifying a style restyles the whole document.
• No table of contents is generated: the file carries real outline levels, so Insert ▸ Table of Contents in Word works in one click.
• Table cells hold inline formatting only — lists or code blocks inside cells are not supported (GFM tables do not allow them either).
• The document declares Calibri and 宋体 (SimSun); devices without these fonts fall back to whatever Word chooses.
• Limits: 100,000 characters of input (the download is disabled above, never truncated silently); opened .md files up to 2 MB, UTF-8 only.
• Nothing is saved: reloading loses the draft (your downloaded .docx is of course yours).
