E-signature pad
Draw a signature and download it as a trimmed, transparent PNG or a true SVG.

How to use it
- Sign directly in the box with a mouse, stylus or finger. The dashed line is only a guide — it never appears in the export.
- Pick a pen width and ink colour before or between strokes; each stroke keeps the width and colour it started with.
- Download a transparent PNG for documents and slides, or an SVG when you need to scale without losing sharpness. Both files are trimmed to the ink.
Example
Stroke
Sign “Alex Morgan” along the dashed guide with the medium pen and black ink.
Download
signature.png — transparent, trimmed to the ink signature.svg — true vector paths, same crop
The guide line and the checkerboard are display aids only; neither is exported. The same strokes with the same options produce the same SVG paths.
Scope, limits and common questions
- An image signature is not a digital signature. This tool only draws a handwritten mark; it provides no identity verification, certificate, timestamp or legal proof. Use a dedicated e-signature service when that is required.
- Pressure and tilt are ignored. Every stroke has a fixed width; there is no fountain-pen or brush simulation. For real pen dynamics, use a drawing app.
- The canvas is fixed at 3:1. Sign at the size you need; to change the frame, crop or pad the exported file with an image tool.
- Exports are always trimmed to the ink with a 24-unit margin (about 2.7% of the canvas height). The full canvas is never exported.
- Limits: 400 strokes or 20,000 sampled points. When either is reached, new input is ignored and a notice appears; undo or reset to continue.
- Nothing is stored. There is no history, no localStorage and no URL data; a reload clears the pad. Download first.
- No clipboard copy. Image clipboard support varies between browsers; downloading PNG / SVG is the stable path.
- PNG is raster: the longest side is capped at 2400 px and at most 2× the design size. Use SVG for unlimited scaling. Some Office versions and image viewers render SVG inconsistently — that is an SVG ecosystem issue, not a corrupt file.
- The background is either transparent or white. Custom colours, gradients and shadows are out of scope.
- Drawing requires a pointer. The keyboard can undo and redo, but it cannot draw; browsers without Pointer Events (such as old IE) are not supported.
- No typed signatures, AI generation, uploads or PDF signing. This tool does one thing: a handwritten signature image.
