How to use it
- Drop one PDF on the card, paste with ⌘V / Ctrl+V, or press “Choose PDF”. Every page appears as a card in output order; thumbnails render as you scroll.
- Drag a thumbnail to move a page, or use the six buttons on each card: rotate left / right 90°, move earlier / later, duplicate, and remove. The buttons work with touch and keyboard.
- The new PDF rebuilds automatically after every change — there is no Apply button. When the result bar turns green, preview it or download the new PDF. Undo and Reset are always available.
Example
report.pdf — 6 pages
Move p.5 to the front Rotate p.2 right 90° Delete p.6
What you get
report-organized.pdf — 5 pages Order: p.5, p.1, p.2 (90°), p.3, p.4
The output name comes from the source file and is never translated. Rotation is written as page metadata on top of the page’s own rotation; the page content is not re-rasterised.
Rules, limits and known issues
- Nothing is uploaded: the PDF is read with the File API and rebuilt in this tab. The page sends no network request, writes nothing to storage, and keeps no history — a reload starts empty.
- Page content is copied, not re-encoded or compressed. Images and fonts keep their original compression, so the output is usually close to the source size; duplicated pages can make it noticeably larger. This is not a compression tool.
- Rotation is page metadata (`/Rotate`), not a new bitmap. Readers show and print the rotated page, but downstream tools may interpret the metadata differently.
- Password-protected PDFs are rejected; there is no password prompt or “ignore encryption” option. Remove the password first and save an unprotected copy.
- Form fields are not carried over. The output is not a fillable form; flatten the form in the source if it must look exactly as it does now.
- Bookmarks/outlines, attachments and document metadata (title, author, subject) are not copied. The output gets a localised title and a YKit Creator/Producer tag. Links on the page usually survive, but links to named destinations or bookmarks may stop working.
- Any organization changes the bytes, so digital signatures are no longer valid. PDF/A, PDF/X and other conformance markers are not preserved either.
- Duplicated pages repeat the full page content. A page may appear several times, increasing both the page count and the output size.
- Limits: one PDF, 50 MB, 500 source pages and 1,000 output pages. Over-limit files are rejected; duplicating is disabled at 1,000 pages. Undo keeps up to 30 steps in memory, and at most 2 thumbnails render at once.
- Thumbnails render on demand as pages approach the viewport. Complex pages can be slow or fail to render; a failed thumbnail does not block moving, rotating, duplicating, removing or exporting the page. Thumbnails use the browser’s built-in fonts and no remote font or character-map files, so a few pages (typically some CJK documents) can show missing glyphs in the preview only — the exported PDF is never affected.
- Result preview uses your browser’s built-in PDF viewer. Inline display and mobile behaviour depend on the browser; if the preview area stays blank, open the result in a new tab or download it.
- Undo exists only in this session and holds up to 30 steps. Reloading, replacing the source file or clearing the tool discards the history — nothing is written to storage.
- Output names replace path separators, control characters and reserved characters with “-”, trim the ends, cut long names and add “-organized.pdf”. The source file itself is never modified.
- All processing runs on the main thread. Large files can occupy the tab for several seconds and make other interactions feel slow; the status shows building progress while it works.
- The sample PDF is generated locally for demonstration only. It is not a real document and contains no personal data.
